LŌKAHI Leadership
-
Ryan Yamada
PARTNER/HEAD COACH
Ryan is the smallest instructor of the Collective. He surprises people by how often he eats and by randomly attacking their legs.
-
Nolan Campbell
PARTNER/HEAD COACH
Nolan is the largest instructor of the Collective. His favorite techniques are Smother, Flatten, and Triangle.
-
Matt Hansen
PARTNER/HEAD OF OPERATIONS
Matt's great wisdom came at the expense of his hair. He may wrist lock you, but he may also wrist lock himself.
-
Guy Rouelle
ASSISTANT COACH | Brown Belt
Guy’s official position in the military is listed as ‘Communications’, but ask for any more details and he might have to kill you.
-
Jason Bartholomew
ASSISTANT COACH | Brown Belt
Mr. J’s poor eyesight leaves some to wonder about his aimless gaze and slight drool. Brain scans show he often daydreams about his next toehold or Sourdough starter.
-
Stephen Dodds
ASSISTANT COACH | Brown Belt

Isaac Hiebert
ASSISTANT COACH | Purple Belt
Isaac’s love for grappling is second only to gas station munchies. He believes that any amount of Little Debbie’s eaten in one sitting is considered a single serving.Read More
-
Kyle Repaskey
ASSISTANT COACH | Purple Belt
An engineer by trade, rumor has it that Kyle’s entire Jiu-jitsu game is on a well-organized spreadsheet. His cells and formulas are checked by his boss (and daughter), who often supervises from the sidelines.
-
Michael Pflueger
ASSISTANT COACH | Purple Belt
Michael was once asked to join the local fire department for the sole purpose of being featured on their annual calendar. He turned them down on account of their workouts not starting ‘early enough’.
-
Connor Gillen
ASSISTANT COACH | Brown Belt
Connor has been preparing to play the leading role of ‘Danny’ in Grease everyday since his 5th birthday. His laugh is the stuff of legends and also his primary defense against strenuous warm-ups.
-
JP Vacanti
ASSISTANT COACH | Black Belt
JP once won an award for the ‘Most Abrasive Grappler’, but chose not to attend the ceremony and instead smother a white belt. His timeless strategy involves claiming to be more out of shape than he really is.
Our Coaches
LŌKAHI’s coaching team blends decades of experience with a passion for teaching. We’re here to guide, mentor, and - when things get tough - remind you why you started this journey.
We believe in creating a safe environment for all students.
All Head and Assistant coaches at LŌKAHI must be certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED before they can teach. This ensures they're prepared to both instruct and provide essential emergency care, maintaining a safe training environment.
