NOLAN CAMPBELL

PARTNER & HEAD COACH | BLACK BELT

Nolan Campbell reached the rank of black belt in 2020. Nolan specializes in gi jiu-jitsu and has over 8 years of experience in curriculum development and leading the gi program.

Early Beginnings:

But Nolan's journey into the world of grappling didn't start on the mats; it began in front of a TV watching professional wrestling as a child. Nolan’s favorite part about wrestling was the submission holds. Nolan and his cousin would oftentimes try to practice these holds on one another and even create their own. His love for the WWF/WWE, especially those thrilling submission holds, ignited a passion that eventually led him to jiu-jitsu in 2008.

Nolan was an active competitor while moving through the ranks and won many tournaments throughout the midwest. In 2016, Nolan took on a new role as the head coach of an adult jiu-jitsu program at a local gym, discovering that his true calling lies in teaching and helping others grow. Nolan has a technical and very detail oriented style of teaching but don't let the seriousness fool you – Nolan believes in training hard and laughing even harder. His classes are not just informative but also a ton of fun, creating a welcoming environment for all students.

Personal:

Outside the dojo, you'll find Nolan enjoying quality time with his wife Jenny. He loves reading, cooking (especially the eating part), and enjoying the occasional cigar.
